Today: 160 km * $27.39 = total donations raised$4,382.40

Last night was marked by thunderstorms and heavy rain showers. As a result, our tent dwellers had to move their entire tents under the roof of a nearby construction site.
All Fundriders went to bed relatively early, so we were able to set off for Phonsavan at 9:00 a.m. this morning. We drove through a stunningly beautiful landscape on winding roads that were relatively well paved, but had the obligatory potholes and gravel patches.
The route was lined with several small mountain villages. Here we took the opportunity to distribute the stuffed animals we had brought with us to small children at the vegetable market. The beaming faces of these children are simply priceless!
During this stop, we also bought souvenirs made from recycled bomb material at a stand on the opposite side of the road.
From there, we left National Road Number 13. Both the road surface and the landscape became increasingly beautiful. We drove towards Phonsavan at 80-100 km/h. We had lunch in Ban Namchat. Here, too, our guide TK lent a hand and helped prepare lunch. Soup, sticky rice, pork, and finally melon and banana.
Then it was only about 70 km to our next accommodation. The roads here in the north are already very well developed, so we made good progress. During a short stop, we even discovered an old tank and used the break to take some photos. There are significantly more aerial bombs here in Laos than in Cambodia. In total, there are still around 80 million today. This means that many unexploded bombs still pose a danger to residents at any time.
We arrived at our accommodation at around 4:00 p.m. Everyone took advantage of the early arrival to unpack their suitcases, enjoy a massage, or simply relax. Laotian food was served for everyone at 7:00 p.m. Tomorrow we will continue on to Thathom.
