After a peaceful night in a hotel (yes, this time it wasn't a guesthouse), we started the day. It was to be the highest point of the tour. We arrived at a Hmong village at an altitude of 2,400 meters above sea level. The Hmong are a minority in Southeast Asia and are scattered across Vietnam, Thailand, and, of course, Laos. They seem to like to keep to themselves and live in villages exclusively populated by Hmong people. Nevertheless, we were given a friendly welcome and were able to watch a woman doing typical embroidery work. The children present were a little shy at first, but gradually warmed up to us.
Since we had a long and very demanding route ahead of us, there was no time left for further adventures. Once we arrived at our new accommodation, we quickly took a shower and then went a few houses down the road. There, T.K. cooked for us again—delicious. We'll be in touch again tomorrow.
