After the usual first item on the agenda (breakfast), we hit the road. The route was great: good asphalt and few hills, plus enchanting scenery. We had actually planned to arrive at our new home around noon, but we also wanted to do something meaningful. No sooner said than done, we visited a total of four schools. Surprisingly, the schools in the area are well equipped by Laotian standards. A nearby dam project provided funds to install sanitary facilities and hand washing stations. Unfortunately, this is not necessarily standard in Laos. Most schools have a kindergarten attached to them. At one of the schools we visited, the building was not in very good condition. So we talked to the school administration and announced that we would come back the next day with paint and brushes. T.K. was tasked with getting the necessary materials from the local paint store. Once we arrived at our new accommodation, Rahel, Darwin, and Heinrich went on a paddling trip to the blue lagoon.
