Hello,

My name is Margarethe Martini. I am 73 years old at the start of the tour and have been retired for some time. Fourteen years ago, we decided to take a trip to Asia to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. As backpackers, we set off for Vietnam and Cambodia. We enjoyed this trip in a relaxed and easygoing manner until we encountered the effects of the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia. After learning the whole story of how the Cambodians were gagged, expelled, and murdered, we visited several places – the Killing Fields, but also the orphanages. In Angkor Wat, we saw how eager the children are to learn and how they soak up everything that education has to offer. Among other things, we saw the sometimes terrible conditions under which people have to live at Tonle Sap Lake.

Back in Germany, it was clear – we wanted to help here. We started searching and found what we were looking for just 15 km away in Neuss. There we discovered the "Kleine Hilfsaktion" (Small Aid Campaign). No problem, we have been members of the "Kleine Hilfsaktion" with our family ever since.
Cambodia stayed on our minds, so we returned a little later and looked at some projects that were very well received. Here, we would like to express our thanks to Mr. Bong.

Now I'm here looking for sponsors. Because these projects also cost money. The fundraising tour is just the right way to raise money for them. We will travel about 1,500 km on scooters. Once across Cambodia to visit some projects and schools, etc.
Everyone should donate between one cent and 100 cents for every kilometer traveled. Every cent counts.
And that's where all my friends, acquaintances, and sponsors come in. It would be great if everyone could support me. I will, of course, pay for everything else myself.
