In the Easter holidays, in the morning before breakfast, a report and an interview on the aid project Fundriding for Cambodia were broadcasted on ARD morning television. I was spontaneously inspired. Cambodia is a great country that has suffered badly in the past, great people and a really meaningful and sustainable project. The breakfast and family had to wait. That was the total contrast to the luxury hotel here on the Canary Islands.
My trips and mountain tours in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, South America etc. had already awakened the desire to help in me in the past, and not just once and only once. This project should be the starting point. I wrote my application, held several more interviews and became a member of the February 2018 Fundriding Team. We will drive through Cambodia on scooters and collect donations for every kilometer driven, comparable to the sponsorship races at school. Of course, we pay all our travel expenses etc. completely by ourselves and donate ourselves. That means every cent you donate goes directly to the country and the people. I personally vouch for that.
You can donate anything from 1 cent per km. With the approx. driven 1200km that is 12 Euro. With 1 Euro it would be 1200 Euro. Or something in between. Every contribution is welcome. Of course, you will also receive a tax-recognized donation receipt.
All donations from the February 2018 tour will be transferred to the WASH project. Imagine that you can't wash your hands for a few days and even worse, you can't drink clean water. The WASH project builds rainwater collection systems, bio sand filters, hand washing stations and toilet facilities for schools. It ensures that clean water is available 365 days a year. 21 schools with a total of 3000 children have already received help. A further 43 schools are planned. And that's exactly what we need your donations for. I think the project is simply great because it has a huge impact on health through simple means and at the same time has a very positive influence and support for the position and acceptance of schools and education.
