Characteristics

Dear friends!

My name is Thomas Röhling, and although I’m 33 years old (at least, that’s what my wife claims), I’m thrilled to say it’s time once again! I’ve been a member of “Kleine Hilfsaktion e.V.” for seven years now, and finally, I can help in person, not just with my monthly contributions. I was in Cambodia in 2018, and this time, we’re both making it to the 2025 anniversary tour in India—this time, my better half, Simone, is coming along!

Who are we? Thomas & Simone Röhling
Thomas: I’m a true Munich native. I recently finished a 12-year career as a time-limited soldier. For the past nine years, I’ve co-owned the company Klo4u GmbH with my brother. I was also chair of our church council for eight years and still volunteer in the church, although with three sons, time (and patience!) can run short…
Simone: I’m 36, from beautiful Salzburg. I worked in medical administration for years before I met the love of my life and moved to Munich with him. Now we have three wonderful sons and feel so lucky to work together in our family business. In my limited “free” time, I serve as the parent council chair at our kids’ kindergarten and love organizing events for little ones.

Luckily, we both share a love for adventure and enjoy exploring the world to experience its culture and nature. I (Thomas) enjoy the thrill of heights and depths—whether skydiving from 4,000 meters, diving 30 meters underwater, or riding across countries by motorcycle or scooter, as is common in Asia. Simone isn’t quite as keen on adrenaline just yet… but we’re working on it! Since 2024, we’ve been traveling in our own VW T6 California van, passing our passion for van camping and global exploration to our kids.

We’ve journeyed through many beautiful countries. Back in 2018, I learned about “Kleine Hilfsaktion e.V.” through a friend and their incredible Fundriding project, and I was immediately hooked! I’ve been a passionate motorcyclist for years, though it’s become harder to find time recently. Simone and I love to ride together, so we’re thrilled to join this amazing event, cruising through India on an “Enfield” and, most importantly, doing good—all with your help! We invite you to support us and, most importantly, the projects of Kleine Hilfsaktion e.V. by making a one-time donation or, better yet, sponsoring us per kilometer. There are several impactful projects, so please feel free to check them out on the Kleine Hilfsaktion website.

You wouldn’t believe how much good can be done with just a little money—helping or even saving lives in Cambodia or India, for example. We’re aiming to cover 1,400 to 1,500 km, meaning if you sponsor us with 5 cents per kilometer, that’s 70-75 euros. Or just 1 cent per kilometer would be 14-15 euros—or anything in between, whatever feels right for you. Simone and I are grateful for every euro, which goes 100% to the projects. At the end of the “FundRiding,” you’ll receive an accurate breakdown (including a tax-deductible donation receipt) and can then transfer your donation.

One thing we’d like to clarify here, as it’s often misunderstood: we cover all the travel costs ourselves. Every cent you donate goes directly to the projects! Our family business, Klo4u GmbH, will also donate again, as it did in 2018.

Kleine Hilfsaktion e.V. operates in Cambodia, Pakistan, India, Tanzania, and even Germany, always focusing on the people. We help in life-threatening situations, support livelihoods, and provide access to education. We install drinking water systems in schools and help individuals who urgently need a new shelter. Our projects are targeted, and our short decision paths allow us to act quickly and directly, which sets us apart from many organizations.

You’ll be able to follow the tour on the website’s tour blog, and we’ll be posting photos and videos on Instagram so you can stay updated. You’ll see how your donation brings joy and hope to children and families in the developing world. And for those who know us, we don’t want Christmas gifts this year. Instead, we’d love for you to sponsor our kilometers and help those who truly need it.

To those who haven’t met us yet: by sponsoring us, you’re not only giving us a gift but also helping those in need around the world. Do something great—become a sponsor!

Thank you to everyone in advance—you’re essential to making this happen. Be part of something truly significant, even if we sometimes lose sight of its importance in our own privileged lives. Together, we can make an impact we understand deeply.

With love,
Simone & Thomas
