Hello,
My name is Detlef Mehlmann and I am the Managing Director of United VARs CLG. Privately, my wife and I have been supporting Kleine Hilfsaktion e.V. for many years. At one point, we took over the sponsorship of a little girl from Pursat, and the desire arose to meet this child in person. So, in 2017, I signed up for the Fundriding Tour in Cambodia. All I can say is that those two weeks permanently changed me and my attitude toward life. Seeing how people in northern Cambodia lived in extreme poverty and endured heartbreaking conditions yet remained humble and content was an extraordinary experience.
Two years later, our company decided to embark on a social project every year to support children in different hotspots around the world. Cambodia was our first stop, where we provided clean drinking water and hygienic sanitary facilities for over 1,000 children by equipping three schools with WASH systems, thanks also to generous support from SAP SE.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the partnership between United VARs and Kleine Hilfsaktion e.V. has continued to flourish, and it is now time to return to the roots of our cooperation and the beginning of our sustainable corporate social responsibility activities.
Exclusively for United VARs employees, members and partners, a Fundriding tour of Cambodia will take place in February 2024, and it is a great honor for me to co-lead it with my friend Roland. While covering the tour costs from my resources, I seek your help with my fundraising efforts. Each participant has to find sponsors who will donate a certain amount (at least 0,01 EUR) per kilometer driven. At the end of the tour, the money collected will be directed towards additional aid projects of the Kleine Hilfsaktion e.V. The tour will span approximately 1,500 kilometers.
